A shutter is only as good as the integrity of the materials from which it’s made. That is why we only start with the solid Basswood species. The reason that we use Basswood is due to its strength, woodworking characteristics and its ability to accept various stains and finishes.

When we come to measure your windows we will review with you your shutter selection on the AMI, or Advanced Manufacturing Integrator system. AMI is a complete solution for  ordering, design and manufacturing custom plantation shutters.

With the AMI system you can select can select your shutter options with a few clicks. AMI electronically transmits the order to Show-Case Shutters and automatically distributes step-by-step instructions to our manufacturing department where we can begin building your shutters immediately.  AMI allows Show-Case Shutters to build complex shutter designs with zero defects.

What Makes Your Show-Case Shutters Special?

• One size fits all is not in our vocabulary. Using the state of the art AMI software program each and every shutter manufactured by Show-Case is built individually to order according to your windows exact specifications.
• Primed Twice. Every Shutter we produce is primed twice and hand sanded before it ever receives one drop of paint. This ensures a smooth even finish.
• Our ends are sealed (photo of sealed end). Unlike other shutter manufacturers all exposed cut ends are sealed not just painted. This makes for a much better finished appearance as well as prevents any moisture for penetrating the wood that could cause warping.
• Premium Dowel Construction. All jointed ends are snugly connected through dowel construction. What this mean to you is that you can feel secure that separation between the jointed pieces of wood will never occur and your shutter will function as intended for years to come.

Flush Rail vs. Drop Rail

When you take a detailed look at the quality of a Show-Case shutter it is apparent.

The flush top rail of our shutters is an example of how our shutters are better than our competition’s. Our flush top rail is a full 1 1/16” that fits flush with the stiles (the sides). Most of our competition has a ¾” drop rail that does NOT fit flush manner to the stiles.

Why is this important? The thicker top rail provides for a more substantial, better built plantation shutter in addition to giving a  cleaner look and it prevents light from showing through around the edges when you want more privacy.
