Shutter Design Center
Step #1. Choose Your Windows and Doors
Do you think some of your windows would be impossible to shutter because of their size and shape? Not so.
We can build shutters for any shape of window – including triangles, circles, ellipses and palladium windows. We also build shutters for doors as well. Don’t worry about how we’ll deal with locks and door knobs or levers. We create custom shapes that work to fit your needs.
Step #2. Choose Your Style
Show-Case Shutters come in three distinctive design styles. Click the images to see larger views for details:
Premium Style – This is by far the most popular style of shutter because of its simple elegance and classic good looks. The straight top rail can go with almost any interior design or architectural feature. This is a great choice if you have a more modern or classical home design.
Elite Style – This is a great choice if your home’s architecture features arches in your interior design. It is also popular if you’re looking to create a more traditional and colonial feel. This finish is created using precision cuts made on our CNC router.
Raised Panel Style – This is the style of choice if you’re seeking maximum privacy or nearly total light blocking (which is handy for in-home theaters!). It may also be possible to combine a lower half as solid panel and the top half with louvers if you can’t decide. We also offer custom carved accents in your solid panel for extra flair.
Step #3. Choose Your Louver Width
In the shutter design center we offer three different louver widths to suit your style and needs. The profile widths of your louvers can make all the difference. Click the images to see larger views for details.
2.5 inches – means there are more louvers in your window opening which can reduce your view a little. These narrow louvers are used when there isn’t enough window depth for the wider louvers. We also recommend them for rooms where you want more privacy vs. more view… like your bedrooms and bathrooms.
3.5 inches – means there are fewer louvers in your window opening, giving you more view. This choice is a good middle ground between greater privacy and greater view. If your window depth allows for this louver then we recommend these where you want to enjoy more view and light… like your living room, dining room, kitchen and den.
4.5 inches – means that you have the greatest distance between louvers and the fewest in your window opening. This gives you the greatest amount of view for your room.. We recommend these large louvers for any window overlooking your best views as they will let you really show off your interior and your landscape with pride.
Hidden Tilt Rod:
The first two shutter images above feature the center tilt rod but you’ll notice that the shutter with 4.5 inch louvers doesn’t have a visible tilt rod. That is because it is hidden. The hidden tilt rod allows for an unobstructed view by concealing the vertical guide rod behind the side frame. The tilt of the shutter is simply manipulated by adjusting the louver by hand. One louver adjusts them all!
Step #4. Choose Your Finishes
Matching the new contemporary finishes of today’s custom cabinetry and interior trim can pose problems. That is why we have introduced custom designed finishes that can also be color matched to your existing color scheme and tastes.
Paint Colors:
White is by far the most popular color of shutters. Actually, there are eight shades of white for you to choose from.
Looking for something a bit more colorful? We can even custom color match your existing trim or cabinetry to accommodate any color you want. Just tell us the manufacturer, paint name and number of your color and we will match it correctly, guaranteed.
Wood Stains:
We also carry 14 standard stains to choose from. Stain colors include cherry, golden oak, walnut and mahogany. Need something a little more unique? Custom stain match is also available. IN fact, that is the only way we do it. Tell us the stain color you want and we will match it!
Beautiful, rich, natural-looking wood stains can really turn your basswood shutters into a showpiece for any room. They can also add warmth and coziness to your den or man-cave.
Add Some Flair:
Want to really make your shutters unique? We can add custom engraved designs into the solid wood rail or raised panel shutters.
Want to show your support for your favorite team? We can carve their logo into your shutter!
Getting shutters installed at your office? We can carve your company logo, too!
How about stylistic flair like the hospitality pineapple symbol or the primitive tree symbol? Yes, we can custom carve those, too! Our CNC router makes anything possible when it comes to custom carving your shutter flair.
